Warm air at the vents, ice on the lines, or a breaker that keeps tripping isn't a wait-it-out problem when El Granada, CA temperatures climb. Pressure, amp draw, and coil condition all get checked before any part gets quoted.
Topping off refrigerant without ever finding the leak is one of the most common ways El Granada homeowners get overcharged. We pull static and running pressures, check superheat and subcooling against factory spec, and use electronic detection to find the actual leak, because a properly repaired leak outlasts three top-offs.
Non-negotiables on every cooling call.
Every tech handling refrigerant carries current federal certification — a legal requirement we take seriously.
No-cool situations jump the schedule, most El Granada requests seen same-day in peak season, even during the busiest stretch of summer.
Capacitor or compressor, the price you approve is the price on the invoice before work starts.
Real detection equipment finds the source, not just a temporary patch.
Six issues that cover the majority of what we see.
The leak gets found and repaired at the source, then the system is recharged and pressure-verified — not just refilled and sent on its way.
Hard-starting or high-amp compressors get tested before we recommend replacement.
Ice on the evaporator coil points to restricted airflow or low charge, and we trace the root cause instead of just thawing it, not just defrost it and hope.
Dual-run capacitor failure is a leading reason an outdoor unit won't start, and it's usually a same-visit fix once confirmed.
A coil caked in debris can't reject heat properly, which spikes head pressure and stresses the compressor, so we clean and inspect during the visit.
Electrical faults can mimic total compressor failure, so we rule these out first to avoid an unnecessary replacement.
Four steps to cold air again.

Truck arrives stocked with refrigerant, gauges, and common parts within your window.
Pressures and amp draws get measured before anything gets added, then quote a flat rate.
Same-visit completion is typical, backed in writing.

Usually a refrigerant leak, compressor failure, or a dirty condenser coil — we check all three and we test each before quoting.

It won't hurt anyone, but continued operation risks the compressor, so it's worth addressing quickly.
